有的人眼睛总盯着别人，

乃至他人的纤毫之过也不放过，

而对自己之不足，

犹不觉知。

这种人正应了

元代石屋禅师的一首《裁缝诗》：
手携刀尺走诸方，

线去针来日日忙。
量尽前人长与短，

自家长短几时量。

这首诗用比喻手法，

巧妙地提醒人们

要学会反观检点自己，

不要总是用自己的标准去衡量他人。

可见，

我们应当以“严于律己，宽以待人”的

处世美德来要求自己啊！

Some people always have their eyes fixed on others, even the slightest faults, but are not aware of their own shortcomings. This kind of person is just like what is described in the poem "For a tailor" by Zen Master Shi-Wu of the Yuan Dynasty:

Rush around with scissors and measuring stick, 
Busy all day with thread and needle,
Having measured others' long and short, 
When will one measure one's own long and short?

This poem is a metaphor for reminding us that we should learn to examine ourselves, and should not always judge others by our own standards. We should ask ourselves to follow the moral principle of "be strict with yourself and tolerant with others".
